Hume Highway lane closed after driver dies in crash

A driver has died following a crash in the NSW Southern Tablelands.

A NSW Police spokesperson said that at about 6 am today (28 November), emergency services were called to the Hume Highway at Gunning, following reports a vehicle had left the road and crashed.

The driver was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics but died at the scene.

They have not been formally identified.

Officers attached to the Hume Police District have established a crime scene and started an investigation into the crash.

At 10 am, Live Traffic NSW stated that one of two southbound lanes was closed.

Motorists were asked to reduce their speed and prepare to merge.

“Ongoing police investigations are expected to take some time,” the alert stated.

A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
