You’re invited to a special exhibition at the Basil Sellers Exhibition Centre showcasing the works of artist Sienna Curby, whose works intimately explore gesture, memory and sensuality.
Through partial compositions and strangely framed bodies, Curby investigates the tactile, sensory components of memory through touch, place and time, reflecting an engagement with the past and how we interact with it.
Family photos served as the visual basis for her works and what Curby gleaned from these were a sense of fleeting realities and partial figures.
Don’t miss out on this fascinating exploration of how we see the past.

Head to the Bredbo Inn for its annual car and bike show, with plenty of exciting classic cars, historic vehicles, oddball automotives and suped up cars.
There will also be competitions and judging for the categories of best car, best bike, best presented, people’s choice and Bredbo men’s choice.

Yass local Sarah Giddy gives a special author talk with Mayor Jasmin Jones about her debut children’s book Flight of the Drakkonbarq, a story of friendship, hope and imagination.
Currently working as a high school English teacher in Sydney, Sarah Giddy is passionate about kids’ literature, illustration and storytelling.
Flight of the Drakkonbarq follows Bat Brikson, our two-centimetre-tall protagonist, as he takes a ride on a newly hatched moth to go on a daring adventure, with the ultimate goal of riding beyond the grass, his home for his whole life. Bat wants to find the legendary dragonfly-riders but he gets caught in a world he didn’t expect. It’s an uplifting story of adventure and bravery, perfect for kids.
This author talk includes a live reading, an interactive audience discussion, a book signing, a morning tea and art activities perfect for the whole family.

Brushstrokes Through Time: A Journey into Impressionism

This workshop is an immersive introduction to the world of impressionism, where participants will learn about key artists from this movement in art, such as Monet, Renoir and Morisot.

Young musicians from the Bega Valley and Wollongong area come together to create a unique musical experience for the community.
Bega Valley Youth Orchestra (BVYO), BlueScope Youth Orchestra (BSYO) and Powell Orchestra are joining forces to perform music together, with a vibrant performance to take the stage by storm at 1 pm with a program full of energy, skill and the joy of music from young amateurs showing off their skill.

This modern adaptation of Jane Austen’s Emma by Highlands Theatre Group is inventive, evocative and bold, while still retaining the spirit and language of the original.
Jane Austen is exhausted and has fallen asleep over the recently finished manuscript of Emma, when her nieces run in and decide to act out their aunt’s novel. Initially irritated, Jane decides to indulge them, leading to the girls inventing fun and new versions of Jane’s story.
This adaptation was first performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 1999 and it has survived this long through its humour and its fresh take on a much-loved staple of English literature.
