There’s so much to get excited about this week – check out all the best events coming up across the regions.

The South Coast hosts the Fungi Feastival, a month-long event extravaganza with art, workshops, book launches, exhibitions, painting, pottery, dinners and so much more. Don’t miss out on this amazing festival bringing together the whole community.

Yass celebrates the winter solstice with a charity event benefiting the rural fire brigade, where visitors get to enjoy great food and wine, all while warming up around a roaring bonfire.

For aspiring artists or those with more experience, head to the Alpine Hotel this week for life drawing – a great chance to gain some experience in a friendly, welcoming space, focused on art.

The Fungi Feastival is a month-long extravaganza of art, workshops, book launches, exhibitions, painting, pottery, dinners, cooking classes, film showings, kayak journeys and more. If you can think of an activity, it’s probably on at the Fungi Feastival and the best part is it’s all across the South Coast, from Pambula to Tanja, Moruya, Cobargo, Narooma, Tomakin, Merimbula and more!

Winter Solstice Bonfire 2025

When: 21 June, 3:30 to 7 pm
Where: Yarrh Wines, 440 Greenwood Rd, Murrumbateman

A signature annual event, the Winter Solstice Bonfire raises money for the local rural fire brigade for the Yass River – Nanima region by bringing together the community to enjoy great food, wine and each other’s company.

Enjoy vintage wines matched with great food and canapes, and if you really acquire a taste for what you’re drinking, all wines are available for purchase on the night, with half of the proceeds going to the brigade.

The first glass of wine is complimentary, so come down and celebrate the shortest day of the year, contribute to a great cause and enjoy the community.

Sunday Arvo Sessions - Tom Woodward

Tom Woodward’s unique style of folk, with acoustic guitar tunes and strange but compelling lyrics, is coming to the Dromedary Hotel for its weekly Sunday sessions.

With a whirlwind career taking him all across Australia, Japan and the USA, Tom has received critical acclaim and awards and has had quite a few adventures on his musical journey such as a two-month walk up the east coast of Australia and a deportation from America. His individual style, unique songwriting and technical skill is sure to make your Sunday that little bit more cruisy.

Local musicians serenading you as you sip mulled wine and tuck into a hot curry dinner is a pretty great way to celebrate the winter solstice.

Head to the SAGE Garden for a festival flavour and remember to wear warm clothes.

Street Feast is a travelling gourmet food market, bringing great food all around the country. It promises an unforgettable night of delicious food.

This weekend’s Street Feast will bring the whole community together to enjoy great dishes from around the world, tasty desserts, a boutique retail stall and savoury drinks.

In collaboration with Hoddles Creek wines in Victoria, the Catalina Club is hosting a very special night of wine and fine food.

If your 2025 resolution includes being more artistic, we have something for you. The Tipsy Sketching Club is hosting life drawing at the Alpine Hotel. This drawing and drinking session is a relaxed, safe place where artists and would-be artists get together and sketch real-life nude models.

Test your abilities and hone your skills with three to four two-minute poses, three five-minute poses, three 10-minute poses and one 25-minute pose.

Become a better artist or just have fun at this unique event celebrating the human body and the artistic process.

If you have your own art supplies, you are encouraged to bring them, but basic supplies will be offered.

Brophys Circus is coming to Yass for an exciting, fast-paced and sometimes death-defying show, bursting with thrills for the whole family to cheer for.

This visit on the 2025 tour schedule features the gravity-defying Wheel of Steel, the Globe of Death, aerial performers and a troupe of clowns. It is set to be a full two hours of fun and excitement.
