A driver allegedly left a man with serious head injuries from a crash on the Monaro before fleeing the scene, police say.
A NSW Police spokesperson said emergency services were called to Mittagang Road in Cooma at around 1:30 pm on Saturday (4 January) over reports of a crash.
Officers arrived to find a 23-year-old man suffering from serious injuries after allegedly being hit by a car.
He was treated for a head injury before being taken to hospital in a serious condition.
The driver of the car in the crash had allegedly fled the scene before police arrived.
On Sunday (5 January), a 22-year-old man, alleged to be the driver, went to Queanbeyan Police Station where he was handed charges that included dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm as well as failing to stop and render assistance.
He was refused bail and appeared at Queanbeyan Local Court on Sunday.
