The name of the police officer accused of assaulting two teenagers while he was on duty on the NSW South Coast has been released.
Brett David Lindsay is a senior constable attached to the NSW Police’s southern region who was suspended with pay when he was issued his charges in September 2024.
The 37-year-old from the Eurobodalla faces two counts of common assault.
His matter was heard before the Batemans Bay Local Court for the first time on Monday (14 October), where it was adjourned for a brief mention on 28 October before the same court.
NSW Police previously said Senior Constable Lindsay was on duty when he allegedly assaulted two 17-year-olds in Batemans Bay on 31 October 2023.
While both of the teenagers were arrested, they were then released without charge.
“The officer is currently suspended with pay,” a police spokesperson said in September 2024.
