Re-Emergence film screening

Re-Emergence is a documentary following actors with a disability in rural NSW, filmed over three years – a fictional story interspersed with real stories of drought, bushfires and the COVID-19 pandemic. The film will be shown in Goulburn, Merimbula and Queanbeyan over the coming few weeks, with the show looking at how its characters – and their communities – endure and then emerge from hardship and trauma.

Mummahood 2024

Gundaroo artist Rosalin Lemoh’s latest exhibition draws from the Canberra Glasswork’s architectural history, as well as larger social themes – through the art of glass. She has spent the past 12 months working in glass sculpture after being named the 2023 artist-in-residence at the Canberra Glassworks. Told, Retold, Untold brings together some of the work she’s done during the year.

You Are A Doughnut

This production might get you in the mood for doughnuts, but you can’t eat the kind this family-friendly show focuses on. The creators of The Alphabet of Awesome Science have put together a new, multiple award-winning family show called You are a Doughnut. The show is a singing and dancing exploration of the human digestive system – the name doughnut coming from something that might surprise you.

Spiral Gallery Members’ & Friends exhibition
When: 22 March to 23 April, 10 am to 4 pm (Mondays to Fridays), 10 am to 1 pm (Saturdays)

This recently opened exhibition brings together Spiral Gallery Co-operative members and other South Coast-based artists. Artists of all kinds have entered works, including ceramics, sculpture, basket-weaving, jewellery, clothing, felting, prints, paintings, handcrafted wood and knives.

Common Threads opening night

This joint exhibition brings together artistic works by photographer Jerusha McDowell and woven sculpture artist Linda Coomber. The exhibition will be hosted at Jerusha’s art gallery, Rushe Photography Gallery, inside The Malbon, a collective retail space that also hosts other artisans and businesses the community can explore. Art fans will also be able to treat themselves to champagne and light refreshments during the opening.

Looking Out My Back Door with Garth Prentice

Musician, songwriter and the Contemporary Music Manager at the Hume Conservatorium in Goulburn Garth Prentice is the recipient of the artist-in-residency program for 2024. In this gig, he will take to the stage alongside other talented artists for a show in celebration of his residency at The Grisp Galleries. He has spent the two-week residency writing blues compositions for his upcoming album, with these compositions to be brought to life by local musicians, and recorded locally.

Writing Craft Essentials workshop

Have an idea for a story you can’t get out of your head? Women’s fiction author, writing podcaster and experienced teacher Pamela Cook and award-winning romance author, lawyer and academic Penelope Janu will lead this workshop on fiction writing. The two authors will draw from their experiences to teach on finding inspiration, character development, story structure and working towards publication.

Mugworts Medieval and Psychic Market Day
When: 24 March, 9 am to 4 pm
Where: Goulburn Recreation Area, 45 Braidwood Road, Goulburn
Cost: Free entry.
Fans of medieval re-enactment and psychics are invited to converge on Goulburn for this first ever market. The market will include medieval knights, a catapult, healers, tarot readers, and market stalls selling crystals, candles, kids toys, witches herbs and much more. There will also be activities, such as face painting and hair braiding, and attendees are invited to get involved in the fun by dressing up as a witch, steampunk, goth or hippie.
