NSW Police call for information after man injured in shooting at Shannon's Flat

Police have opened an investigation after a man received a gunshot wound to his leg near Cooma.

In a statement released shortly before noon on Friday (1 September), a spokesperson for NSW Police said local detectives had opened an investigation into an incident earlier that week.

“About 9:45 pm Monday (28 August 2023), officers from Monaro Police District were told that a 30-year-old man – suffering a gunshot wound to his leg – was being driven to Cooma Hospital by a friend,” the spokesperson said.

“About 10:10 pm, police located both men in an Isuzu utility on the Monaro Highway, Cooma.”

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the injured man at the scene. He was then taken to Canberra Hospital in a stable condition.

A crime scene was established at a home on Jones Plain Road in Shannon Flats and the site was examined by specialist police.
