It is alleged a large group of sledgehammer and hammer-wielding robbers burst into a service station just north of Canberra and threatened staff before stealing cash and cigarettes.
Police are now seeking the public’s help to identify the alleged culprits.
The group entered the servo on the Federal Highway in Sutton just after 1 am on Monday (30 January) while carrying the weapons and wearing face coverings, NSW Police allege.
They allegedly threatened two employees, who retreated into an office and called Triple Zero.
The robbers allegedly stole cigarettes and a quantity of cash before fleeing.
“The group of up to eight people have been described as being between 18 and 25 years old and Caucasian in appearance,” police said.
“All were wearing black clothing, face coverings and gloves.”
