Goulburn will come alive this weekend, with hundreds of cars and motorbikes rolling in on Saturday, 27 November, topped off with food and festivities of the Aussie Nightmarkets on Sunday.
Upcycle your old books at a steampunk workshop in Moruya, sit back and enjoy beer and music in Tumut and Gundaroo, or watch hundreds of cyclists as they take to the roads around the Snowy Mountains.
There’ll be the usual crop of markets dotted around the region, including the monthly return of the Riverbank Markets in Yass, which is stocking up with Christmas produce.
Saturday
Goulburn Car and Motorcycle Show
When: Saturday, 27 November, from 8:30 am to 2 pm,

Cost: Free to attend – $20 for car or bike entries.
All cars and motorcycles are welcome to attend Goulburn Car and Motorcycle Show. All vehicle entries are $20 and each category will be judged by a ‘people’s choice’ vote.
Show entries are between 8 am and 10 am, and general admission is between 8:30 am and 2 pm.
There are 33 trophies on offer for cars and bikes, and all entrants have the chance to win one of three $500 prizes.
A new addition for this year’s show is a street parade from 5 pm in Auburn Street. All proceeds from the day go to the Goulburn PCYC’s ‘Rise Up’ programs for youth.
Christmas Riverbank Market

Launching earlier this year, the monthly Riverbank Markets Yass brings together a wide range of vendors from across the region selling arts, crafts, clothes, plants, local produce, local wines and more. Dogs are welcome at the markets, provided they are on a leash and under control at all times.
Upcycle Books with Steampunk, with Carmel Cox

Join artist Carmel Cox in this fun and interesting workshop where you will learn how to revamp secondhand books into funky steampunk themes.
Learn ageing paper techniques, how to create rust effects from acrylic paints, and be shown how to draw an optical illusion. By applying the techniques you learn and using small metal objects, cogs and embellishments, you will create a unique take-home steampunk book.
This workshop is perfect for anyone wanting to learn how to upcycle and age any object (books, jars, bottles, etc) with a steampunk theme.
Murrumbateman Village Market

The Murrumbateman Village Market provides an avenue for local producers and businesses to connect with the people of Murrumbateman and its surrounds, and provides an engaging meeting place for locals and visitors to connect with friends and community groups.
Tumut River Tap Days

Indie brews and bands take their place on the banks of Tumut River, at Bila Park, this Saturday. This relaxed event will celebrate the awesome pairing that is beer and live music, with several local breweries and bands taking part. The event will be hosted by the very funny Dane Simpson, and it will be a top day out.
We Love Local at Tallagandra Hill Winery

Tallagandra Hill Winery celebrates coming out of COVID-19 lockdown with a series of special events at its cellar door courtyard and event venue. The program provides a range of entertainment options, while supporting local artists and producers. Kim Yang recently performed at the winery, and this Sunday Marty K takes the stage.
Andrew Blanch – Classical Guitar Recital

Leading Australian guitarist Andrew Blanch has curated a two-act selection of works that represents some of his favourite music.
The first half features masterworks spanning close to three centuries of classical guitar, and the second half allows Andrew to share a personal passion, the extraordinary depth and beauty of the music of Latin America. The program will include works by Vivaldi, Tarrega and Piazzolla.
Aussie NightMarkets

This Sunday’s Aussie NightMarkets in Goulburn will be two days of food, drinks, shopping, live music, entertainment, rides and games. Great fun!

Drops + Hoods cycling event

Cost: Free for spectators.
Lateral Events, owner and organiser of four successful editions of L’Étape Australia by Tour de France, held in the Snowy Mountains from 2016 to 2019, have launched their new cycling event, Drops + Hoods in the Snowy Mountains.
The event will take place from Thursday, 2 December, to Sunday, 5 December, and participants will ride from Dalgety to Berridale, Jindabyne, Thredbo, Perisher, Lake Crackenback and Charlotte Pass.
Seven distances (from 34km to 271km) will be available across the road and gravel events.
Bring friends and the whole family – there will be something for everyone.
