82-year-old injured in truck and quad bike crash near Braidwood

An elderly man has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after a crash between a quad bike and a truck outside Braidwood.

NSW Police said the 82-year-old was riding his quad bike along Larbert Road, which is about 15km north-west of Braidwood, at about 11:30 am on Wednesday (7 September) when he became involved in the crash and was thrown off his quad bike onto the road.

The 55-year-old truck driver stopped, helped the rider and contacted emergency services.

Paramedics treated the rider for head and upper body injuries before he was airlifted to Canberra Hospital, where he is in a stable condition. The truck driver was taken to Braidwood Hospital for mandatory testing.

Police have asked for anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or who has available dashcam footage, to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
