Police seize and destroy $7.5 million worth of cannabis near Goulburn

NSW Police have charged three men after cannabis valued at $7.5 million was seized near Goulburn yesterday (18 March).

The three men, aged 26, 27 and 35, were arrested at a property on Junction Point Road, Crooked Corner, about 80 km north-west of Goulburn after police from the Hume Police District received information relating to the cultivation of cannabis at the property.

A search warrant was executed on 18 March and investigators located three large-scale outdoor greenhouses being used for cannabis cultivation.

Police seized 3,513 cannabis plants and more than 100 kg of dried cannabis leaf, with a combined estimated street value of $7.5 million.

The cannabis was then destroyed by police.

The men were taken to Goulburn Police Station and charged with cultivating a large commercial quantity of a prohibited plant and supply of a large commercial quantity of a prohibited drug.

All three men were refused bail to appear before Goulburn Local Court today (19 March).
