Two men charged after ‘ice’ found in shoe at Batemans Bay

Two men have been charged with drug supply after police allegedly located the drug ‘ice’ hidden in a man’s shoes at Batemans Bay yesterday (26 February).

Officers from South Coast Police District stopped a Hyundai Getz on Beach Road, Batemans Bay at about 8:00 am yesterday and searched the man, allegedly finding drugs in the shoes.

The 40-year-old man was arrested and taken to Batemans Bay Police Station where he was charged with drug supply.

He was granted conditional bail and is due to face Batemans Bay Local Court on 16 March.

Following inquiries, investigators attended a resort in Batemans Bay and spoke with a 44-year-old man.

A search warrant was executed, with officers seizing ‘ice’, MDMA, cannabis, drug paraphernalia, gift cards and resealable plastic bags.

The man was arrested and taken to Batemans Bay Police Station where he was charged with three counts of supply prohibited drug, possess prohibited drug and larceny.

He was refused bail and is due to face Batemans Bay Local Court today (27 February).

A NSW Police spokesperson said their inquiries are continuing.
