The Future Sounds Tour comes to Goulburn to showcase the best music from emerging local musical talents.
The Goulburn Race Club Girls Day Out invites local ladies to get kitted out for a day at the track, with plenty of racing, fashion on the field, drinks and nibbles.
And an art exhibition at Rusten Art House shows off the Monaro/Snowy Mountains region in a new light this week.

Monaro and the Snowy Mountains – Exhibition by Margaret Hadfield

Rusten House Art Centre hosts the works of Margaret Hadfield, an artist who has been painting the local area for 35 years, taking inspiration from the alpine environment.
All the seasons of the Snowy Mountains will be on display, explored delicately and skilfully by an artist who understands the natural landscapes of the area better than most. A finalist in numerous major art prizes, the founder of the Artists Shed and a host of numerous art classes, Hadfield’s talent is not something to be missed.

The Majors Creek Festival is bringing heaps of music, performances, handmade goods stalls and food to town, completely transforming the face of town with a celebration of community.

Future Sounds brings together emerging artists from across regional NSW for a night of original music, storytelling and skilful instrumental work. This event showcases young singer-songwriters whose songs reflect roots in the country, personal journeys and a shared passion for real, authentic music.
Set in GPAC’s bar, audiences can expect an intimate evening of music and storytelling through song, with each performance offering a unique perspective.

This workshop is all about how to bring your garden to life, helping garden owners attract bees, birds and butterflies. Wildlife is an asset for gardens and horticulturalist Di Clark will be sharing tips on how to choose the best plants to create year-round food and shelter for wildlife while also reducing garden threats. Attendees will leave with fresh ideas and they’ll learn easy steps to help pollinators thrive, while also making their garden more beautiful.

Girls Day Out is back this year at the Goulburn Race Club, with a whole lot of excitement for the ladies.
This year’s event has a diverse range of hire options and packages depending on how all-out you’re looking to go, with lawn settings, umbrellas and marquees available for hire.
There will be fashion on the field and the best dressed on the day gets a shot at winning prizes worth more than $3000. Whether you’re going for the races or just to get dressed up, there’s a lot to love at the Goulburn Race Club.

Totum – Live at the Steampacket Hotel

Totum is a husband and wife acoustic duo based on the South Coast, where they’ve been playing music for the past decade, bringing their own take to some classic songs, along with a whole host of original tunes.
Dave has played guitar and bass alongside artists such as Tony Childs, Pete Murray and Jimmy Barnes and he has produced albums for many Australian artists. Jo is a successful songwriter, visual artist and voice coach. Don’t miss out on seeing this duo in action this weekend.

Build and Bloom Vase Workshop
When: 9 November, 3 to 5 pm

At the Build and Bloom Vase Workshop visitors will get to create their own unique vase across a guided two-hour course using traditional coil-building techniques.
Guided step by step, potters-for-a-day will build, shape and personalise their own stoneware clay pieces. Whether you’re a clay work novice or an old pro, this is a great chance to explore the art of clay making, so come get your hands muddy and see what you can make with your own two hands.
Works will then be fired, glazed and finished with a glossy durable surface.

Remembrance Day at the Rocky Hill War Memorial and Museum

This Tuesday there will be a service at the Rocky Hill War Memorial to commemorate the ending of the First World War on 11 November 1918. The mayor will be present to lay a wreath and the whole community is welcome to come to remember those who fell in Australia’s most costly conflict, The Great War.
