Lieder Theatre Company Presents: Anne of Green Gables

Directed by Blake Selmes and produced by the talented and passionate crew at Lieder Theatre Company, Anne of Green Gables is coming to the stage in Goulburn. This uplifting tale, now a classic in the English literary cannon, follows the life of Anne as she endears herself to her friends and neighbours in her new rural home of Avonlea. This much beloved tale has endured for so long with good reason – it strikes a chord with each successive generation, and Lieder Theatre Company is proud to bring it to you and your family this week.

Bungendore Community Christmas Party and Carols
When: 6 December, 4 to 8 pm
Where: Gibraltar Street, Bungendore
Cost: Free entry.
QPRC’s yearly community Christmas bash is back this year. Get yourself in the mood for Christmas and listen to local carolers and some instrumental music on stage put on by musicians from the area. There’ll be food and drinks and family activities to keep you entertained for a whole evening of community fun.
Southern Harvest December Twilight Markets
When: 6 December, 3 to 9 pm
Where: 23 Malbon Street, Bungendore
Cost: Free entry, cash preferred for vendors.
Southern Harvest is hosting a local produce market weekly every Friday until Christmas so you can stock up on all that you need for Christmas lunch or dinner. Hosted in the village square, there will be fruits and vegetables from regional producers, wines, meats, oils, crafts handmade with care and much more. Add a bit of Queanbeyan colour to your pantry and support local farmers.

Studio Blue Dance – End of Year Concert
When: 7 December, 3 pm
Where: Batemans Bay Pavilions, 12 Vesper St, Batemans Bay

Studio Blue Dance hosts its end of year concert on Saturday. The three-part show features a variety dance showcase featuring all of the styles and disciplines that Studio Blue dancers have been studying all year. Jazz, contemporary, hip hop, tap, acro and ballroom students will all show off their chops on the dance floor.
For the first time ever Studio Blue will hold a mini ballet production, an exploration of classical storytelling through movement with lovable characters and creative costumes. This first of its kind performance from Studio Blue is sure to excite ballet aficionados and dancers.
Studio Blue will finish off strong with a contemporary production, “Twisted Tales”, with the best of the more modern dancing disciplines. The jazz, contemporary, ballroom, hip hop and acro students will take centre stage and show you the best of Studio Blue.
Sunrise Yoga – Moruya Heads

Sunrise Movement Practise Yoga is on at the Moruya Heads lookout every Saturday. It’s open for all levels, from newbie to yogi. Bring a yoga mat and a bottle of water, and if you like, bring some swimmers for an early morning dip in the ocean. From 7:30 am there’ll be coffee and treats to re-energise. Yoga is a great way to centre yourself and recalibrate your mind and body after a long week of work and there’s no better place to do that than in the great outdoors, enjoying the first rays of the sun on the headland while the waves crash against the beach. 2024 Cooma Races Sundowners Cup

Where: Ti Tree Racecourse, Cooma
Cost: Entry $20 pp, children under 16 free.
If you missed the excitement and action of the Melbourne Cup, keep the pace up with the Cooma Races Sundowners Cup, with fashions on the field, a champagne bar and live music, along with face painting for kids. It’s a full day of fun for everyone. Enjoy a good meal and some cold bevvies and take part in one of Australia’s most enduring traditions by cheering on your lucky pick, or just sit back and chat with your mates – there’s nothing like a day at the races.

Kevin Welch and Heath Cullen Live at the Royal Hotel Queanbeyan

Head to the Royal Hotel in Queanbeyan for a singing and songwriting power duo in Kevin Welch and Heath Cullen. With decades of experience between them and multiple acclaimed albums, each artist brings individual characters, flair and skill to their performance. Welch has collaborated with big names such as the Dead Reckoners and Waylon Jennings, earning a following through his songwriting and performing talent.
Cullen is a multi-talented musician. Combining the skills of a singer, songwriter and producer, he has released four critically acclaimed albums in just the past decade. Through his talent and dedication he has earned a significant following across Europe, the US, the UK, and Australia.

Christmas on Comur Street

Where: Comur Street, Yass NSW
Cost: Free.
Comur Street becomes the centre of Christmas celebrations on Thursday as locals parade down the street while Yass residents cheer them on. There’s late-night shopping, markets, a petting zoo and live music, along with a special visit from Saint Nick himself. It’s also a great opportunity to show support for frontline workers who feature in the parade.
