There’s no shortage of great things to do in the regions in the coming week. Long anticipated music festivals, ag shows, museum open days and races are all on the cards. Let us bring you the best of what’s going on in the next few days, from Cobargo to Goulburn and everywhere in between.

Multiple Days

Cobargo Folk Festival

When: Friday 28 February to Sunday 2 March. Friday, 8 am to 10:30 pm; Saturday, 8 am to 10 pm; Sunday, 8 am to 2 pm
Where: Cobargo Folk Festival Venue, Cobargo Showground
Cost: Prices from free to $175.

Drinks, great food and of course a huge range of live music await you at the Cobargo Folk Festival.

With more than 70 local and international musical acts present you’re spoilt for choice. Come for a day or stay for the whole weekend and see just how many acts you can catch.

There will also be raffles and a secondhand book stall for a bit of quiet time between sets.

2025 NSW Seniors Festival – Goulburn

When: Monday 3 March to Friday 7 March, 11 am to 3 pm
Where: Goulburn Community Centre, 155 Auburn Street, Goulburn
Cost: Free.

The NSW Seniors Festival provides hundreds of events and activities for older folks, bringing them together from all across the state every year.

Coming to multiple areas, the Goulburn showing is set to be an occasion to remember, with lunches, shows, live comedy, a musical tribute show, aerobics and swimming classes and a performance by the Royal Australian Navy Band.

Come down for a free week packed with activities.

Goulburn Ag Show

When: Saturday 1 March, 9 am to 5 pm and Sunday 2 March, 9 am to 4 pm
Where: 47 Braidwood Road, Goulburn
Cost: Free.

Running since 1880, the Goulburn Ag Show is one of the biggest things on in town all year and this year’s show won’t disappoint. Horse riding events, camel rides, reptiles on display, shearing, mullet competitions, vintage farm machinery on display as well as the classic show bags and food stalls are all here to keep you busy over the weekend. Don’t miss out.

Saturday

Cooma Car Club Museum Open Day

When: Saturday 1 March, 10 am to 2 pm
Where: 11 Bolaro Street, Cooma
Cost: Free.

The Cooma Car Club holds its open day this Saturday, letting the public get a good look at some amazing classic cars ranging from retro classics to muscle icons to the weird and bizarre. The club is a real mid-century blast from the past, with an operational 1950s diner, period memorabilia everywhere and enough odds and ends to have any motorhead foaming at the mouth.

Yass Picnic Races

When: Saturday 1 March, 11 am to 5:30 pm
Where: Marchmont Racecourse, Gums Ln, Yass
Cost: Tickets from $30.

The historic Marchmont Racecourse hosts the 124th Yass Picnic Races this Saturday, with heaps to keep you going; there’ll be races, fashion on the field and family-friendly activities to keep the excitement and energy up.

Urge on your lucky pick as it strains to the finish line or just sit by the wayside and enjoy the champagne. Either way, the Yass Picnic Show is something to get excited about.

Braidwood Show

When: Saturday 1 March
Where: Braidwood Showground, Kings Highway
Cost: Admission from free to $10, entry at the gate.

Races, pet shows, cattle comps, vintage cars, sawing competitions, dog shows and plenty more activities await the whole family at the Braidwood Show this Saturday. Come see the whole of Braidwood get together for a tradition that’s stood the test of time for nearly 150 years.

Sunday

Queanbeyan Multicultural Festival

When: Sunday 2 March 10 am to 4 pm
Where: Queanbeyan Park, Lowe St, Queanbeyan
Cost: Free, cash encouraged for market stalls.

The Queanbeyan Multicultural Festival is coming to the park this Sunday to excite the senses and delight the taste buds with two stages featuring dance acts from all around the world, as well as sports demonstrations, market stalls and of course food from all corners of the globe.

It’s one of Queanbeyan’s busiest events of the year and it’s now a staple in the town events scene – don’t miss it!

Clean Up Australia Day

When: Sunday 2 March
Where: Various locations around NSW, register for location
Cost: Free.

Help keep your local area beautiful with Clean Up Australia Day, an opportunity to give back to the community and keep our outdoor spaces pristine. Regional NSW is known for its natural beauty – from the salty shores of the South Coast to the rolling green hills of the Yass Valley, help preserve what makes Australia special this Sunday.
