Multiple Days

Tumbafest 2025
When: 22 and 23 February, gates open at 10 am

Set on the banks of the Tumbarumba Creek, Tumbafest is a community get-together with food, wine and music at its centre.
One hundred stalls serving produce, crafts, and treats ensure there’s heaps to be excited about.
Musical acts include Jared Buckley, Deja Groove, Midnight Alibi, Dylan Wright and more. You’ll never run out of good tunes to bob your head to.
Looking to sample some local drinks? Cider makers, beer brewers and winemakers will offer tasting sessions so visitors can experience the local flavour.

Skywhales Across Australia: Artist Talk with Patricia Piccinini
When: 21 February, noon to 1 pm
Where: Goulburn Regional Art Gallery, 184 Bourke Street, Goulburn
Cost: Free but bookings required.
In anticipation of the launch of her air sculpture Skywhales Across Australia in Goulburn scheduled for Saturday 30 November, Patricia Piccinini will be giving an artist talk in the Goulburn Art Gallery.
Piccinini is renowned internationally for her work with hyperrealism and her work, encompassing drawing, photography, video, mixed-media, painted compositions and large-scale installation, seeks to interrogate the relationship between the natural and artificial world. Her iconic work Skywhale, made originally to mark the centenary of the capital, is her most famous piece and was acquired by the National Gallery.

Goulburn Multicultural Festival
When: 22 February, 10 am to 4 pm

Cost: Free entry.
A full day of fun and activities awaits at the Goulburn Multicultural Festival – international food from all corners of the globe, market stalls, kids’ entertainment and of course a range of performances from China, the Philippines, South America, Africa and India.

Kyra Geddes Author Talk

Cost: Free, RSVP on the Yass Book Store website.
Kyra Geddes’ latest book blends Australian history and fiction to explore the past, asking who owns it and if someone has the right to tell another’s story. Her novel The Story Thief tells the story of a young woman born the same year Henry Lawson wrote The Drovers Wife, who reads the story as a teenager and becomes convinced that it is based on her family. As she tries to prove it, she finds that the past is more problematic than she initially thought.

Gravity Girls – Mountain Biking
When: 23 February, 9 am
Where: 1 Friday Drive, Thredbo, Kosciuszko National Park
Cost: Tickets $122.
This women-only mountain biking event provides a safe space for beginner, intermediate and advanced riders alike to get together and hone their existing skills or learn some new ones. Beginners will learn basic essential skills like body positioning, cornering and braking while more seasoned riders get to learn jumps and drops from experienced female instructors.
If you’re looking to up your biking game and meet some other women with similar interests this is the event for you. Book now on their website.
Some gravity mountain bike experience is required. Suitable for women 14 and over.

Monaro Billy Kart Derby
When: 23 February 9 am entry 10 am start
Where: Cooma Showground, Boundary Street, Cooma
Cost: Spectators may enter for a gold coin donation; racers, $20 and bookings required – entry forms also available at Rose’s Restaurant and the Cooma Visitor Centre.
They may not have engines, but they tear off from the start line all the same with the help of gravity. The Monaro Billy Kart Derby is a great way to enjoy the thrill of the track on a slightly smaller scale, with heaps of community spirit and fun.
Racers compete for $2000 in prize money.

Sapphire Coast Marine Expo
When: 23 February 10 am to 2 pm
Where: Tathra Beach Eco Camp, 5 Andy Poole Dr, Tathra
Cost: Free.
A fun, inspiring expo that showcases all the activities around the coast, from recreational sports to aquaculture, and the diverse creatures and plants that live in the local environment, is coming to the Bega Valley.
There will also be a series of talks, film screenings, live music, and market stalls as well as workshops on conservation and preservation, sustainable aquaculture, recycling, and plastic-free solutions.

Greenside Grooves Featuring Val Moogz
When: 23 February, 2 to 5 pm
Where: Moruya Golf Club, Evans Street, Moruya
Cost: Free.
Influenced by rock poetry, soul and surf pop, Val Moogz draws from the South Coast lifestyle to create cruisy tunes perfect for sitting back and sinking a few on a Sunday. There’s great food, activities for kids and of course, brews on tap to keep you going as you finish off the weekend on a high note.

Phoenix Collective Play in Braidwood
When: 23 February, 3 to 4:10 pm
Where: 47 Elrington Street, Braidwood
Cost: All tickets $40 to $45.
The Phoenix Collective is known in the Australian music scene for its unique musical programs, playing string quartet classics that have stood the test of time alongside more contemporary music.
This show, their first in Braidwood, will showcase Mozart’s fourth string quartet and Shostakovich’s third quartet in conjunction with modern music by Australian Emma Greenhill and Italian cellist, Giovanni Sollima.

Barstool Conversations at the Tathra Hotel #2

Cost: Free.
Playwright Suzie Miller in conversation with Crimson Rosella’s creative director Lindy Hume will discuss Australian theatre, where it’s going and its place in the creative sphere. Miller has seen much success in the theatrical world including for her multiple award-winning play Prima Facie. She opens her next play Inter Alia at the National Theatre in London this year. Her insight into the Australian theatrical world will be illuminating.
The pair will cover small-scale storytelling, the beauty of the stage and how the South Coast creative scene excites them to create.

Cobargo Folk Fringe Festival

This Thursday night at the Cobargo showgrounds the Fringe Festival brings you heaps of entertainment, local art across six venues, bushdancing, music and a very special screening of the documentary The Day She Stole The Sun about Cobargo’s resilience during the black summer bushfires.
