A South Coast wildlife park is opening its doors for a special event – and you’re on the invitation list!

The 2025 Eurobodalla Community Day will be held on 20 September, giving locals a chance to see the wide variety of animal friends they share a region with (and benefit from some great deals, too).

Mogo Wildlife Park operations manager Chris Tague said the community day was open to people from across south-eastern NSW.

“Whether you’re from Narooma, Batemans Bay, or Broulee, our community day welcomes everyone,” he said.

“Let’s come together to celebrate all that makes Eurobodalla special.”

Visitors can look forward to special appearances from Kylie the Gorilla (the wildlife park’s much-loved mascot), who will be greeting guests and creating memorable photo opportunities.

Attendees will also go into the draw for one of four private animal encounters.

These will be drawn on the day, meaning some lucky visitors will make some friends with the park’s emperor tamarin, tiger, white rhino and meerkat residents.

Mogo Wildlife Park attracts more than 150,000 visitors through its gates each year, playing a crucial role in supporting local businesses and the economy.

For James Bueno, Australian Wildlife Parks’ commercial director, the community day is a chance to bring everyone together.

“Mogo Wildlife Park Community Day is a wonderful opportunity for us all to come together, celebrate our shared love for wildlife and enjoy quality time with family and friends,” he said.

“This event is not just about having a fun day out, it’s about strengthening the ties that bind us as a community.”

To celebrate the special day, entry tickets will have a special price of $15 and come with a bottle of Mt Franklin water.

Mogo Wildlife Park is also offering free entry to 100 people with disabilities (and carers with a valid companion card). These will be available until exhausted.

James said the day was also a celebration of community and connection.

“By coming together, we support local businesses, foster connections, and build a sense of unity that is vital to the wellbeing of Eurobodalla,” he said.

“Whether you’re meeting new people, reconnecting with old friends, or simply enjoying the atmosphere, this day is a reminder of the importance of working together to create a vibrant, thriving community for everyone.”

Mogo Wildlife Park is at 222 Tomakin Road and is open from 9 am to 4 pm.

People can buy tickets for the community day through the park’s website from 8 September.

The $15 entry tickets are non-refundable and only eligible for the Eurobodalla Community Day.
