Temora Shire communities are invited to provide their insights on the design concept of the much anticipated $80 million Temora Hospital redevelopment.
The new hospital design was unveiled on Monday (12 February).
Minister for Regional Health Ryan Park said the hospital redevelopment would provide a modern health facility and enhanced healthcare services for Temora and the surrounding region.
“I’m excited about the latest design for this new Temora facility. The redevelopment will deliver enhanced care in a contemporary setting to meet the needs of the local community now and into the future,” Mr Park said.
“The new Temora Hospital will continue to provide emergency department services and modern inpatient accommodation with beds available for medical, surgical, rehabilitation, palliative care and maternity patients.
“Temora Hospital’s key clinical services will be the focus of the redevelopment and will be continually prioritised throughout the design and planning stages.”
The new hospital will include perioperative facilities for surgery and procedures, community and allied health, ambulatory clinics, pathology and medical imaging facilities as part of the redevelopment.
Patients, staff, and visitors will have access to an improved carpark while emergency and service vehicles will have a separate entry.
The hospital redevelopment will be located on the existing site, retaining and maximising its position overlooking the Temora township.
Light-filled spaces and direct views of the hospital’s beautiful gardens are also proposed as part of the project to create a welcoming and supportive environment for patients, visitors and staff.
Murrumbidgee Local Health District, the Local Health Advisory Committee, clinicians and community members have all helped inform the hospital’s design. Construction of the redevelopment is expected to start in 2025.
