Six people who broke COVID-19 restrictions by entering New South Wales from Victoria on a boat have been fined.
The crew members and passengers disembarked the vessel at Eden on 12 August, according to police.
An investigation into the boat’s movements was launched by NSW Police Force’s Marine Area Command and officers from Tweed Heads Water Police, with the assistance of Queensland Police, spoke with the six people on 4 September.
The skipper of the boat, a 64-year-old man, was issued with a $3000 fine. Meanwhile, the owner of the boat, a 61-year-old man, was issued with a $2000 fine.
Three female passengers aged 51, 20 and 18 were each issued with a $1000 fine.
A 40-year-old woman, a crew member of the vessel, was also issued with a $1000 fine.
