Police are calling for witnesses to come forward after a shot was fired into a Wagga Wagga home as its residents lay sleeping in the early hours of Sunday, 5 December.

NSW Police said a man and woman, aged 30 and 39, were at their home on Awaba Avenue in Tolland when they were woken up by the sound of shattering glass about 3 am.

Police said the occupants were cleaning up the glass when they found pellets and called police.

Fortunately no injuries were reported.
