Emergency service crews have resumed their search of Kosciuszko National Park today (Sunday, 14 September) for missing backcountry hiker and skiier Cameron Little.

The 57 year old started his trip from the Guthega Power Station on Thursday (4 September) and was due to return on Saturday (13 September).

When he failed to return, a land and air search was launched by Riverina and Monaro Police District officers, with the help of PolAir, SES, Rural Fire Service, and National Parks and Wildlife Service.

Cameron’s blue Mitsubishi station wagon has been found unattended at the Guthega Power Station.

Cameron last made contact on Saturday, 6 September. There are concerns for his welfare as he is an experienced hiker and skier and his failure to return is out of character.

He’s described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 175 cm tall, of medium build, with a fair complexion, brown hair, and an unshaven grey beard.

He is believed to be travelling with a backpack.

Police believe Cameron may still be in the Snowy Mountains back country area, in the vicinity of Mount Jagungal.

Anyone with information on Cameron’s whereabouts has been urged to contact Queanbeyan Police Station (02 6298 0599) or Triple Zero (000).

Details can also be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
