Remains found on the NSW Far South Coast earlier this year have been identified as a man who had been missing for several years.
A NSW Police spokesperson said police had been called at approximately 2:30 pm on 27 February, after a contractor discovered what was believed to be human remains in Beowa National Park, near Eden.
“Officers attached to South Coast Police District attended, and a crime scene was established,” the spokesperson said.
“The remains were seized and sent for forensic examination to assist with identification.”
Following inquiries, NSW Police have confirmed the remains are that of a man reported missing in the Eden area in 2018.
The death is not being treated as suspicious.
