A popular Far South Coast fitness and wellbeing event will not go ahead in October, but don’t despair as it has not been cancelled – merely rescheduled to later in the year.

ReBoot in Bermagui will be held on 4 and 5 December 2021 so participants can hopefully launch themselves out of COVID-19 lockdown blues and into summer.

Committee spokesperson Julie Rutherford said planning an event in the time of coronavirus was challenging – ReBoot being cancelled last year.

“Our event is a wholly outdoor event,” she said.

“As far as that’s concerned, it’s ideal for COVID really. But it’s restrictions that cause issues.”

Ms Rutherford was hopeful restrictions in Canberra and Sydney would be relaxed by December so the cities’ residents would be able to attend the rescheduled event.

“We are hoping it’s a ReBoot into summer instead of a ReBoot into spring,” she said.

There are plenty of fun and exciting events to look forward to in December.

There will be the fun runs, swims, a free breakfast, tug-o-war, yoga, tai chi, barefoot bowls, golf, surf lessons, tennis, and a Skoot and Skate competition.

This year, there will also be a guided bike ride to Cobargo and back.

“It’s not a race, just a chance to ride on a very scenic road,” Ms Rutherford said.

“We wanted to involve Cobargo as it’s part of our community as well.”

Also, The Crossing will provide guided river paddles.

Participants who registered for the October event and are unable to make it to the new dates in December can contact organisers and be refunded.

Registrations are open for the December event and if there is another lockdown people can still be refunded.
