A police officer will fight allegations he assaulted a man who was being held in custody at Goulburn.
Kristian Anthony Weston, a senior constable, pleaded not guilty to two counts of common assault on the first occasion he appeared in court to face his charges.
NSW Police previously said an investigation had begun into the alleged assault of a 40-year-old man who sustained injuries while he was in police custody at Goulburn on 2 September 2022.
Mr Weston, who was attached to a command in the Southern Region, was issued a future court attendance notice last December.
At the time, police said his employment status was under review.
The 48-year-old from Goulburn appeared in Moss Vale Local Court on Tuesday (17 January) where he pleaded not guilty and Magistrate Mark Douglass adjourned the matter for a mention on 14 March.
