Police investigate alleged sexual assault in Jindabyne from over 10 years ago

Police are calling for help for information about an alleged sexual assault in the Snowy Mountains from over a decade ago.

NSW Police said the alleged assault was said to have taken place in Jindabyne in 2009.

It is alleged a teenage girl was assaulted by a man aged in his 40s in the garage area of a unit block on Park Road.

The Monaro Police District crime manager, Detective Chief Inspector Neil Grey, said police had conducted extensive investigations and were turning to the public for assistance.

“We believe there may be people living in the Jindabyne area and surrounds who have information that could prove vital to this investigation,” he said.

He said anyone with information on the alleged incident could contact Cooma Police on 6452 0099 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
