Helen Moody has taken an in-depth look into the history of 61 islands along the South Coast – and her research is discussed in her book, South Coast Islands – New South Wales. She will visit two Eurobodalla locations to talk about the islands’ beauty and hidden stories. Learn about Aboriginal connections, early European exploration of them, and their geology and flora – and their shipwrecks.

Queanbeyan Quilters has organised an exhibition of miniature quilts, which comes as part of its 40th anniversary celebrations. These miniature quilts celebrate Queanbeyan and use a wide range of quilting techniques, as the members reflected on what Queanbeyan meant to them.

How much do you know about the Sydney Rock Oyster? The osyster is loved by foodies and farmers alike on the South Coast, and a new month-long celebration dedicated to it is kicking off. This inaugural series of events will run throughout September, giving South Coast locals and visitors to the region alike a chance to explore and learn about oyster farming. The schedule includes exhibitions, specialty dinners, tours and accommodation packages, with the Bidhiinja Oyster Exhibition as the centrepiece (a dedicated look into the history of oyster reefs in NSW and ongoing restoration efforts to protect and restore them).

Ordinary Days is the story of four young New Yorkers whose lives intersect as they search for fulfilment, happiness, love, and cabs. Through a score of vibrant and memorable songs, their experiences ring startlingly true to life. It is part of the Q The Locals program and is suitable for audiences aged 13 and older.

Life in Our Cemeteries

Where: Quaama Cemetery, Quaama

What goes on at Quaama Cemetery once everyone has left? Attendees will walk through the cemetery and enter plants, insects or animals they see on the iNaturalist app, as experts take them through how the natural world (from bushfires to local vegetation to bushfires) has influenced the life of the cemetery. A light lunch will be provided.
Ash Grunwald show

Ash Grunwald is coming to The Moruya Waterfront, bringing his trademark stacks of guitars and foot-stomping blues. Across his 12 studio albums and career, the award-winning artist has collaborated with many of his fellow Australian musicians and played sold-out festivals across Europe, Japan, and North America. But on Saturday night, he’s coming to Moruya – so go and get your groove on!

A Googong favourite is returning for another year! This year, a range of flying animals and other kites will be taking to the sky. The public are invited to bring a picnic to munch on as they watch the kites (and clouds) go by, or treat themselves to a burger, ice cream or a sausage sizzle. Grab a kite.

Vietnamese-born Anh Do came to Australia as a refugee as a child. His bestselling book, The Happiest Refugee, recounted his family’s journey to a new country and how they adjusted to a new life. A stage show brings his story to new audiences, combining stand-up comedy with real-life stories, photos, and filmed pieces to retell his story.

Elvis: An American Trilogy

The King (of Rock ‘n’ Roll) is coming to Goulburn. This tribute show stars three performers, taking audiences through the many eras of the legendary Elvis Presley. The show starts with Louis Brown, bringing Elvis’ rockabilly sound and signature dance moves back to life before Michael Chambliss shows Elvis in his movie years and the ‘68 Comeback Special. Steve Michaels will star as Elvis in the ‘Aloha from Hawaii’ era.
