Yass Irish and Celtic Musical Festival

Fancy a trip to Ireland? You can arrive without needing to pull out your passport in this two-day celebration of Irish and Celtic culture. From music to poetry, dance and food, this is one festival with a distinctly Celtic flair – and it’s all being held right in the heart of Yass.
Goulburn BookFest 2024

While some events are already sold-out, others still have room for you to join this chapter of BookFest’s history! The schedule includes talks, workshops, activities for youngsters and discussions – and with the guest list including Kate Grenville, Michael Brissenden, Danielle McDonald, Mem Fox and Kate Forsyth, everyone can find something to their (literary) tastes.
Tulip Top Gardens
When: 13 September to 13 October 9 am to 5 pm (last entry is at 4:15 pm)

Cost: Tickets cost $20 (for concession holders) and $22 (for adults), while children 16 and under have free entry (only purchased at the gate).
If you have a hankering to spend some time outside, these gardens are once again opening with beautiful designs. Head to Sutton, walk through the blooming flowers and take in the fresh air. Well-behaved dogs are allowed, as long as your furry friends are kept on a lead.
Incredible Feminist of Wagga Wagga

The Incredible Feminist of Wagga Wagga tells the story of the founding and early years of the Wagga Wagga Women’s Health Centre (WWWHC), a key moment in the push for women’s rights in the area. The exhibition has been curated through creative storytelling in a comic book style, alongside more traditional exhibition curation for a unique exploration of the circumstances around WWWHC’s founding in the 1970s.

Mogo Wildlife Park 2024 Community Day

Mogo Wildlife Park is opening the gates for its annual Eurobodalla Community Day! The day has a discounted entry price of $15, with the young and young-at-heart able to travel to Mogo and make some new animal friends (or say hello to your old friends from your last visit). This special event is a way to bring the community together for a day of celebration, connection, and appreciation. Bookings are highly recommended, and attendees can choose their arrival window of 9 am, 11 am or 1 pm.
Festival of Sustainable Choices

The inaugural Sustainable Choices Festival is planting its roots in Moruya on Saturday.
The entire day is all linked by one idea – how homes and business can save energy (and money). These interactive activities have a focus on community education and tips for those looking to make their lifestyle more sustainable.
Head along and check out a packed schedule of stalls, panel discussions, presentations and workshops, as well as a chance to explore a maze with a twist. No single-use packaging will be distributed at this event and attendees are encouraged to bring their own cups and crockery.
Eden Killer Whale Museum Open Day

Have you ever wondered what secrets are behind the doors of the killer whale museum? This is your chance to explore its collection of artefacts from Eden’s maritime history – and see the famous Old Tom, who is settling into his new home after being moved earlier this year. There will also be local producers bringing their products to make sure no-one goes hungry.

Cooma Rotary Markets

Market lovers can browse a variety of stalls, with vendors selling local produce, antiques, arts and crafts, eggs, bric-a-brac, plants and much more every third Sunday of the month. Know you’re supporting a good cause – the markets have been run and organised by Cooma Rotary Club for more than 20 years, with proceeds going towards the club’s projects.
Wednesday
Radical Reels

Cost: Tickets cost between $24 and $32 and are available via Humanitix.
Radical Reels is coming to Jindabyne, bringing heart-stopping sport films from around the globe as part of its tour across Australia.
This year’s collection includes the winner of the Best Snow Sport film award at the Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival in Canada. Seating is not allocated, meaning it is first come, first served.
