There’s plenty to do in the regions this Mother’s Day weekend – for mum and the whole family.

Running across the whole weekend there’s the annual Narooma Oyster Festival, Cobargo is celebrating 25 years of its Folk Festival and Goulburn is holding a two-day polo tournament for Mother’s Day.

On Saturday, Jindabyne will be holding its monthly Hall Markets, Bicentennial Hall in Queanbeyan will be showcasing an INXS tribute band and The Hive in Queanbeyan will be doing a Hive & Seek Market where you’re sure to find the perfect gift for mum.

To end the weekend on Sunday Mami’s Bar in Batemans Bay is doing a Drag Bingo afternoon, The Dromedary Hotel in Tilba is hosting Chris O’Connor’s blues and the Royal Hotel Queanbeyan is having a Mother’s Day luncheon.

Narooma Oyster Festival

The two-day, multi-award-winning Narooma Oyster Festival is back in 2022. It’s a showcase of the region’s natural, high-quality produce and local culinary talent. It features shucking competitions, live music and tasting of regional wines, craft beer, ciders, fine foods from around the region and of course, oysters from local estuaries. There will also be plenty of entertainment for the kids.

Following multiple delays, the annual Cobargo Folk Festival is back with the theme ‘A Folk Gathering’. A celebration of folk music culture in Australia and worldwide, it offers top-notch folk and roots music, live performances, food stalls and more in a family-friendly environment. All profits raised will be used to improve local community facilities, fund the Festival build and the artistic program and fund local music education and development projects.

Goulburn Polo Tournament

When: Saturday 7 May from 9 am, Sunday 8 May from 9 am
Where: Goulburn Polo Club, Braidwood Rd, Tirrannaville

The Goulburn Polo Club invites you and your family to enjoy a weekend of country polo. The first game kicks off Saturday at 9 am and will finish with an A grade final on Sunday at 3 pm. Following the games, the clubs will be hosting a dinner dance on Saturday evening.

Jindabyne Hall Markets

INXS Tribute Show – LIVE BABY LIVE!

Australia’s premier rendition of one of the most iconic bands in Australian history, Live Baby Live! The INXS Tribute Show is coming to Queanbeyan this Saturday night. The show promises stunning covers of all the classic INXS tracks, performing songs from their first album through to their latest hits.

Hive & Seek Market

Is your mum the type to want to put her Bingo skills to the test? She will love Mother’s Day afternoon at Mami’s Bar in Batemans Bay where bingo hosted by the glorious drag queens Roxee Horror and Ellawarra is sure to entertain. Tickets include nibbles, cocktails, prizes and a lot of laughs.

Mothers Day Luncheon at Royal Hotel Queanbeyan

The Royal Hotel Queanbeyan is hosting a special two-course luncheon in its Upper House. Every mum gets a glass of bubbly on arrival before enjoying dining in the atrium and terrace courtyard and listening to live music from Dana Hassall. Tickets include the choice of one of two mouth-watering mains followed by pavlova or chocolate and salted caramel tart for dessert.

Would mum enjoy a chilled afternoon of blues with the talented Chris O’Connor? He will be playing his own vintage blues tunes and performing the classics from the 1920s masters Tommy Johnson, Memphis Minnie, Charlie Patton and Lemon Jefferson. Chris showcases a broad range of blues styles and recently made an appearance at the National Folk Festival and Great Southern Blues and represented at the Memphis International Blues Challenge in 2014 and 2019.
