There are plenty of exciting things to do in the region this week, so grab your friends and family and get ready to have some fun with our top picks of events.

From pizza-making workshops to pool parties, comedians, carnivals, Chinese New Year celebrations, Australia Day events, markets and more, we’ve got your week sorted!

Make Your Own Pizza

When: Friday, 20 January, 6 to 10 pm
Where: Zac’s Place, 15 Pritchett Street, Yass
Cost: Free, reserve your spot here.

If you love pizza and you’re looking for something fun to do with your friends, the Yass Valley Council is hosting a special event for 18 to 24-year-olds to make their own pizzas. If interested, reserve your spot now. No fee is required.

Summer Pool Party

When: Saturday, 21 January, from 12 to 3 pm
Where: Bay Pavilions, 2 Vesper Street, Batemans Bay
Cost: Free, reserve your spot here.

As the sun continues to shine and the weather remains warm, Bay Pavilions is holding a free summer pool party this Saturday.

The Youth Summer Pool Party welcomes kids and teens aged 12 to 18 to come and enjoy free slide entry, a barbecue, games and plenty of live music.

Moruya Country Market

When: Saturday, 21 January, 8 am to 1 pm
Where: Riverside Park, Moruya
Cost: Free.

The Moruya Country Market is on this Saturday and is known as a lively, colourful morning event that takes place on the bank of the Moruya River.

With more than 140 stallholders stocking everything from fresh produce to pre-loved books and bric-a-brac, the Moruya Country Market is loved by everyone. Here you’ll also hear live music and find a variety of tasty refreshments on offer.

Jimeoin live

When: Saturday, 21 January, 7:30 pm
Where: Batemans Bay Soldiers Club, 6 Beach Rd, Batemans Bay
Cost: Tickets are $51.50, and can be purchased here.

Irish stand-up and actor Jimeoin is coming to Batemans Bay in January for a special comedy showcase. He’s known for his brilliantly funny wit and charming observations on the absurdities of everyday life, and makes regular appearances on Australian television.

If you’re looking for a night of gags galore, book your ticket and prepare to laugh your socks off.

2023 Eurobodalla Agricultural Show

When: Saturday, 21 January, 9 am to 9:30 pm; Sunday, 22 January, 9 am to 5 pm
Where: Moruya Showgrounds
Cost: Free on the Saturday, gate fees apply on the Sunday.

The Eurobodalla Agricultural Show is back in 2023 under the theme ”From the Ground Up”.

Bring your family and friends this weekend for the two-day show that will feature plenty of fun for everyone.

There will be face painting for kids, kids’ areas and rides, a Saturday night rodeo, lawnmower racing on the Sunday, pavilion booths, sideshows, show bags, dog shows, an animal nursery, food, drinks and more. Plus, everyone who comes along on the Saturday will receive free entry; however, gate fees will apply on the Sunday.

Bungonia Sunday Breakfast

When: Sunday, 22 January, 10 am to 12 pm
Where: Bungonia Community Hall, 42 King Street, Bungonia
Cost: Free entry, breakfast items from $4.

This Sunday the Bungonia Cafe, run by the Bungonia Progress Association and other local volunteers, will host a not-for-profit breakfast with all funds going towards keeping the community hall open – and cementing its reputation as the most important meal of the day. Expect delicious country cooking at bargain prices, including an English big breakfast for $9; bacon and egg roll for $5; pancakes with maple syrup, cream, jam and butter for $4; and barista coffee for $4.

Chinese New Year Story Party

When: Monday, 23 January, from 10:30 am to 12 pm
Where: Goulburn Mulwaree Library
Cost: Tickets are $5 per person, and can be booked here.

To celebrate Chinese New Year, the Goulburn Mulwaree Library is hosting a Story Party, welcoming children aged three and above to come along with their families and read picture books, take part in fun craft activities and receive a special Chinese New Year treat. The session also includes morning tea.

Sage Farmers Market

When: Tuesday, 24 January, from 3 to 5 pm
Where: Riverside Park, Moruya
Cost: Free.

On Tuesday afternoons, Riverside Park plays host to the spectacular SAGE Farmers Market.

This market is the result of the community’s demand for quality local produce. Here, you can access the best locally grown, made and harvested food direct from the producers. How great is that?

Marulan Australia Day Celebrations

When: Thursday, 26 January, 4 to 11 pm
Where: Marulan Soccer Fields
Cost: Gold-coin donation on entry.

This Australia Day, the Marulan community has a fun family day planned and you’re invited.

Kicking off at 4 pm, you’ll get to meet animals in a petting zoo, and enjoy live entertainment, fire twirlers, jumping castles and plenty of rides. There will also be a barbecue, food trucks and fireworks.
