There’s lots to do this week in the regions, if you’re a fan of art, shows, music, movies and more, we’ve got you covered!

On Friday, get ready to dance like nobody’s watching as Narooma’s best DJs are playing at the Bend and Sip bar.

Saturday is when all the action takes place.

The Yass Show returns for its 159th year, Moruya is celebrating 90 years of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Love On The Run theatre performance takes place in Moruya and Sculpture @ Shaw is being held in Murrumbateman. Paula Simons will be doing a yoga class on the ocean on Saturday morning, and Saturday evening will be a night under the stars, watching a movie to fundraise for a good cause.

On Sunday morning, immerse yourself in nothing but the best of fresh produce and goods at the Queanbeyan Market, with plenty of fun for the whole family.

And to top it off, next Thursday the Queanbeyan-Palerang Seniors Festival will be taking place, as the perfect opportunity to connect with old friends and make more, whilst enjoying a nice morning tea and roast lunch.

Bend and Sip Bar is open once again post COVID, welcoming people back to their social lives with an opportunity to dance the night away. This 18 + event invites you to dress weird and dance like nobody is watching as it brings all things house, disco and techno from Narooma’s best DJs including Another Luke, Joshua Brian and Usual Suspects.

Love On The Run

When: Saturday 19 March, 7 pm – 9 pm, Sunday 20th March 2 pm – 4 pm
Where: RSL Memorial Hall, 11 Page St, Moruya, NSW
Cost: Tickets are from $15 and can be purchased here.
Come along with your family and friends this weekend to the Moruya RSL Hall to enjoy a night of theatre and live music. With music by Stafford Ray and the Moonlighters, the performance showcases two, one-act plays, filled with fun, love and laughter. The two plays, the Reluctant Bride, and Love or the Nearest offer aren’t to be missed.

Sculpture@Shaw is an exhibition of sculptures by local and internationally-renowned artists set in the rolling paddocks at Shaw Wines in Murrumbateman. Only 30 minutes from Canberra, there will be an exhibition of small-scale works on display around the terrace of the Shaw Wines Cellar Door, as well as helicopter joyrides, food, a coffee van and dining options for everyone to enjoy.

Moruya Celebrates 90 years of the Sydney Harbour Bridge

When: Saturday 19 March, 1 – 9 pm, Sunday 20 March, 9:30 am – 1:30 pm
Where: Moruya Riverside Park, Waterfront Hotel Moruya, NSW
Cost: Free entry.

Did you know the granite for the Sydney Harbour Bridge came from Moruya? The whole town is celebrating the bridge’s 90th birthday. Events kick off at 1 pm with a Mardi Gras style street parade, featuring a re-enactment of the ribbon cutting. Continuing down to Riverside Park where you will find a Show and Shine featuring the best of street, classic and vintage cars, along with plenty of food and market stalls, for the whole family to enjoy. All afternoon there will be live music and auctions, plus fire dancers, river lights, a smoking ceremony, in the evening there will be river lights and fireworks. On Sunday, there will be a quarry tour, a showing of historic footage of quarry workers and a slide show of past Moruya mardi gras, finishing off with music in the beer garden at the Waterfront Hotel.

Yass Show

When: Saturday 19 March, 8 am – 5 pm
Where: Yass Showground, 16 Grand Junction Road, Yass, NSW
Cost: Kids tickets, $5, Adult tickets, $10 and family package tickets are available here.

The Yass Show returns in 2022 for its 159th show. It will once again feature popular events and attractions including antique farm machinery, woodchopping, vintage cars, show jumping, horse and livestock events as well as plenty of entertainment including a magician and farmyard nursery. There will also be the annual Yass Dog Show, a sheep shearing competition, Lego displays, art, food, rides for kids and plenty of local produce on display.

SUP Yoga with Paula

Come and join Paula Simons at Guerilla Bay for some yoga on the ocean this Saturday. Bring your own stand up paddleboard and get ready to learn new things, face new challenges and have plenty of laughs. Paula’s yoga class is open to all ages, with limited numbers. so get in quick!

Movies under the stars

Come relax and unwind at Kingsdale Winery this Saturday to enjoy magnificent views and sunsets whilst watching Kingsdale Winery for this year’s ‘Movie Under the Stars’ screening of Red Dog True Blue. This session will be held alongside the BDCU Goulburn Hospital Fundraising Inc and each movie ticket purchased comes with a glass of wine and an all you can eat Mediterranean meal.

The Queanbeyan Market

When: Sunday 20 March, 9 am – 1 pm
Where: Queanbeyan Park, Lowe Street, Queanbeyan, NSW
Cost: Free entry.

The Queanbeyan Park Markets are held on the third Sunday of every month, and are back this weekend. Come along and absorb yourself in all the locally-grown fresh produce with a wide range of vegetables, fruit, eggs, dairy, honey and meat producers as well as wines, olive oil, preserves, bread, cakes and confectionery. There’s plenty for the whole family, including games for kids and food and drink stalls.

Queanbeyan-Palerang Seniors Festival

When: Thursday 24 March, 9 am – 3:30 pm
Where: 59 Ellendon St, Bungendore NSW
Cost: Tickets are $15, and can be purchased here.

The 2022 Queanbeyan-Palerang Seniors Festival will be held in Bungendore next Thursday, welcoming all seniors around the region to a low-cost morning tea and roast lunch. It’s the perfect opportunity to catch up with old friends and make new ones whilst focusing on issues such as mental health, a healthy body and a healthy mind.
