With case numbers continuing to rise, Southern NSW Local Health District is taking public bookings for COVID-19 vaccinations on a new online platform that offers a simpler registration process.
Three new COVID-19 cases were recorded in the reporting period to 8 pm yesterday, all in Goulburn and all linked to known cases. They bring the total number of cases in the district to 94 since the start of the current outbreak in June.
Health authorities are urging the Crookwell and Jindabyne communities to get tested with even the mildest of COVID-19 symptoms following the detection of fragments of the virus in the local sewage systems in the past 48 hours.
There are no confirmed COVID-19 cases in Crookwell and Jindabyne but SNSWLHD is concerned that the presence of these fragments could signal undetected cases in the community.
There are also new venues of concern in Batemans Bay and Goulburn, including Coles and Woolworths in both towns. The full list is here.
Health authorities are again urging eligible people to get vaccinated and the new NSW Health Vaccination Administration Management Platform (VAM), accessible through the Australian Government HealthDirect Vaccine Clinic Finder, allows the public to book a COVID-19 vaccination for family members or themselves at a clinic, date, and time of their choosing.
People in Southern NSW can now select appointments at NSW Health COVID-19 vaccination clinics in Queanbeyan, Goulburn and Bega, with children aged 12 years and older eligible for vaccination.
The Queanbeyan and Goulburn clinics have replaced the mobile vaccination clinics that had been operating since May. They are an addition to the clinic that has been operating at Bega’s South East Regional Hospital (SERH).
Bookings are available Tuesday to Saturday at the Queanbeyan and Goulburn clinics and Monday to Sunday at the SERH clinic.
SNSWLHD COVID-19 Vaccine Coordinator Leanne Ovington said the system is user-friendly and will speed up the administration process when people arrive for their appointments.
“After people fill in their details on the booking system, they are given a QR code, which is scanned at the clinic when they arrive for their appointment,” she said. “All they need to do is scan the QR code and show identification, and the administration team can see their details already in the system.”
The booking system also allows for people to disclose any medical conditions before they attend a clinic, which is then automatically reviewed in the system to determine if vaccination is safe for them.

SNSWLHD will also continue to operate pop-up clinics at various locations across the District, including AstraZeneca walk-in clinics for people aged 18 years and older, and Pfizer clinics for targeted groups.
The health service is now administering Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines at its walk-in COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic in Yass. The clinic will be operating at the Yass Soldiers Memorial Hall today and tomorrow, and 25 September, from 9 am to 4 pm. People aged 12 to 17 will receive Pfizer, and people aged 18 years and older can choose from Pfizer or AstraZeneca.
SNSWLHD vaccine clinic staff will be available to discuss which vaccine will be the safest option for each person, and they can help with the registration process at the clinic.
There have been four new confirmed cases of COVID-19 reported in the Murrumbidgee Local Health District. One case is a resident of the Albury Local Government Area and three cases are residents of the Hilltops LGA – only two are linked to known cases.
These cases bring the total number of cases in Hilltops LGA to 17 and Albury LGA to 5, with a total of 22 cases in the MLHD since the start of the current outbreak.
