Police continue to make drug arrests in the region with a man to face court today charged over his alleged involvement in the supply of methylamphetamine (Ice) on the Far South Coast.
In April, detectives from South Coast Police District established Strike Force Sharwen to investigate the supply of prohibited drugs in the Bega Valley.
“Following inquiries, strike force detectives executed a search warrant at a rural property between Bega and Eden on Tuesday, July 2,” police report.
Officers seized several items, including ice and cannabis.
“Two men, aged 20 and 27 were served Field Court Attendance Notices for their alleged involvement in the supply of prohibited drugs and dealing with proceeds of crime.”
The men are due to appear at Eden Local Court on August 7.
Following further inquiries, a 38-year-old man was arrested on Nelba Nelba Road, Bega, about 12.50 pm yesterday afternoon (July 10).
“He was taken to Bega Police Station and charged with supply prohibited drug on an ongoing basis and two further counts of supply prohibited drugs.”
Police allege that the man was involved in the supply of methylamphetamine throughout the Bega Valley.
Bail was refused, he will face Narooma Local Court today (July 11).
These latest arrests follow raids in Moruya and Nowra late last month where two men were arrested and $100,000 worth of Ice seized, two further and connected arrests followed at Braidwood two days later.
