A man has died after a trail bike crash in the state’s south over the weekend.

According to NSW Police, three trail bikes were travelling along Wadbilliga Road, Tuross, east of Cooma, when one of the riders came off, approximately two kilometres from Tuross Road on Saturday afternoon around 1:45 pm.

A second rider went to the man’s aid while a third left to seek assistance before an emergency beacon was activated, alerting emergency services to their location.

Officers attached to Monaro Police District attended, along with NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, the rider, a 58-year-old man, died at the scene.

A crime scene was established and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is underway.

A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
