Man dies in single-vehicle crash near Merimbula

A man died in a single-vehicle crash when his car left the road and hit a group of trees on the NSW South Coast.

NSW Police said emergency services were called to Mount Darragh Road at Wyndham, about 30 km west of Merimbula, at around 1:45 pm on Wednesday (9 October) over reports of the crash.

Officers found a BMW convertible had left the road and hit a group of large trees.

Despite the efforts of first responders on the scene, they were unable to revive the driver, a man police believe to be aged in his 40s.

“Police established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash,” a police spokesperson said.

“A report will be prepared for the coroner.”
