Man died after fatal two-vehicle crash near Pambula

A man died after a two-vehicle crash on the NSW Far South Coast late last week.

Emergency services were called to Mount Darragh Road, which is about three kilometres east of South Pambula, over reports of a crash at about 7 pm on Friday (11 April).

A NSW Police spokesperson said a male driver, believed to be aged in his 70s, died at the scene.

The driver of the second car, a 77-year-old man, was taken to South East Regional Hospital in Bega for mandatory testing and treatment of his injuries.

Police established a crime scene and began an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

“A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner,” the police spokesperson said.

It is the second fatal crash on Mount Darragh Road in recent months.

On 9 October 2024, police found a BMW convertible had left the road and hit a group of large trees.

The driver, a man police believed to be aged in his 40s, died at the scene.
