A five-year-old Riverina boy is recovering well in Sydney after suffering third-degree burns to most of his body.
Brock Andrews was caught in a fire in an accident at his Junee home last month.
“I was gone for a minute,” Brock’s mother Chelsea Cannon told Region.
“The fire had coals and I went to get a log from the front door. He went under the sink and threw metho on the fire.”
Ms Cannon said her son was “recovering well”.
“The support has been amazing but the misinformed trolls have been brutal,” Ms Cannon said. “It’s hard enough living this nightmare but the negatives have made it a lot harder.”
Ms Cannon has organised a GoFundMe page to help with the medical bills.
She said the ordeal had been extremely difficult for her entire family.
“We don’t know what the future looks like for him at this point, or what a recovery for him might look like either,” Ms Cannon wrote on the GoFundMe page.
“Any donations for him would be greatly appreciated to help with medical bills and his recovery.”
If you would like to donate, Ms Cannon has requested that donations be made through the ‘Help Brockie get better’ GoFundMe page.
“Please note that this is a legitimate fundraiser for him, and this GoFundMe will go directly to him, unlike other GoFundMe campaigns using his photo,” Ms Cannon wrote.
