American actor Matt Damon was happy to pose with star-struck locals while visiting the regional village of Jugiong in the NSW Hilltops.
The celebrity picked up a coffee from Long Track Pantry during the surprise visit on 25 April and agreed to a selfie with one lucky customer.
“Took a little time out of my day for a quick coffee catch up with Matt Damon #whynot,” Bev Boney wrote when she shared the photo on Instagram.
“Omg lucky you!” and “I still can’t believe this”, friends said in response to Bev’s post.
The photo shows Matt wearing a beanie while framed beautifully beneath autumnal leaves and holding the coffee he just purchased.
Long Track Pantry owner Juliet Robb said the visit was random and hadn’t been organised, but didn’t want to reveal what the star ordered or what he was like in case he returned.
A Hilltops Tourism newsletter reported Matt was visiting the area with his family and friend Chris Hemsworth.
Chris also shared a video on his Instagram three days after Matt was snapped in Jugiong of his family mustering sheep on a nearby property.
The video shows Chris riding a quad bike while his daughter runs on foot.
“Finally found a way to exhaust my kids #classicsheepdog,” Chris wrote on the Instagram post.
Australian Wool Innovation responded to the post with: “Thanks for supporting the Aussie wool industry. You and the family are always welcome on one of our 60,000 properties!”
Jugiong is a popular destination for people travelling between Sydney and Melbourne on the Hume Highway.
Drivers can pull in for a break and enjoy a coffee at the pantry, pick up local wine from the cellar or have lunch at The Sir George.
“We hope they enjoyed their visit to our beautiful region,” the team at Hilltops Tourism wrote in the newsletter.
