A $4 million Federal Government grant will fund a roundabout on the Princes Highway south of Moruya to ease traffic flow around a number of key developments in the area.
Federal Member for Gilmore Fiona Phillips said the funding would enable the construction of a four-legged roundabout.
“This is important infrastructure that will provide safe access to the Moruya TAFE campus, the new Eurobodalla Emergency Services Precinct, and future housing developments in South Moruya,” she said.
Eurobodalla Mayor Mathew Hatcher said the Moruya Housing Infrastructure project had been underway since April 2023, with council having received $11.5 million from the NSW Government for the construction of critical infrastructure to support the development of about 1000 homes in Moruya.
“I warmly welcome this significant investment from the Commonwealth Government for the Moruya Housing Infrastructure project,” he said.
“Council has been working with all levels of government for many years, pushing for solutions to the housing challenges in our region.

“Moruya is in a great position to support a mix of housing options for our growing and ageing community, with great amenities, easy access to services, and well-connected infrastructure.
“The Moruya TAFE roundabout will make sure traffic flows smoothly and improves safety on the Princes Highway.”
The funding is being provided through the Commonwealth Housing Support Program – Community Enabling Infrastructure Stream.
The Australian Government’s $1.5 billion Housing Support Program is one of a range of measures designed to help achieve the National Housing Accord’s target of building 1.2 million new, well-located homes over the next five years.
