Meet our lovable Pet of the Week looking for his forever home at the Eurobodalla Animal Welfare League!
Meet Jimmy!
Jimmy is a two-year-old purebred Maremma and his carers agree he’s a really lovely boy.
Jimmy has led a sheltered life so far, so he takes a little time to warm up when meeting new people and dogs.
This is typical of Maremmas, which are an ancient breed traditionally used for protecting many types of livestock.
They tend to be independent thinkers, and cautious in unfamiliar situations.
Maremmas are also known for being loyal and devoted family members. Jimmy is a prime example of this temperament and is great with children.
Jimmy has basic training, walks well on a lead and travels well. He loves playing with other dogs and is happy to hang out with his friends.
He does alert people to intruders and really would need a home where he has a job to keep him busy.
Maremmas are not suited to being left alone in a backyard, so Jimmy’s ideal home will be one where he has lots of room, perhaps a farm, as well as plenty of human company.
He’s intelligent and would benefit from ongoing training, to bring out his full potential.
Jimmy has been an outdoor dog but is well-behaved inside.
Like all Animal Welfare League pets, Jimmy comes desexed, vaccinated, microchipped and flea, tick and worm treated.
If this handsome boy sounds like the dog for you, call AWL Eurobodalla on 0410 016 612 to arrange a meeting.
Previous Pet of the Week, cat Ripley has been adopted, while his friend Miles is still on the hunt for his forever home.
