Distillery scoops two gongs in Snowy Monaro Business Awards

Snowy Monaro Regional Council is excited to share this year’s Snowy Monaro Business Awards winners, following a gala dinner in Cooma on Friday 5 May. The biennial awards attracted a record number of entries this year.

There were 225 nominations for 113 individual businesses for the 2023 awards.

Council extends its congratulations to all nominees, finalists and winners for their perseverance and ongoing commitment to the region and community.

“Our region is lucky to have a vibrant local business community that makes the Snowy Monaro such a great place to live, work and do business,” a council spokesperson said.

Major awards were won across the whole council region, with Wildbrumby Distillery celebrating its 20th anniversary with two major awards.

Cooma Monaro Railway, which recently opened a local railway museum and only this week took delivery of steam locomotive 3032, was judged the best visitor experience.

Awards for business of the year were won by businesses in Cooma, Jindabyne, Bombala and local villages.

The awards were presented by Snowy Monaro Regional Council in collaboration with local chambers of commerce.

Council thanked the Snowy Monaro community for their support of this year’s awards, with more than 2900 votes received across the People’s Choice categories – a substantial increase on 2021’s 719 votes.

The next Snowy Monaro Business Awards will be held in 2025.
