Cache of knives and illegal gun allegedly found in bush near Eden

Police were in the NSW Far South Coast bush when they allegedly found an illegal gun and a collection of knives.

NSW Police said officers were on patrol around noon on 13 April when they found a vehicle in bushland on Fulligans Road in Pericoe, which is about 42 km west of Eden.

When officers searched the vehicle, they allegedly seized an unregistered shotgun and three hunting knives.

A 55-year-old man was then issued with a court attendance notice for possessing an unauthorised firearm, possessing an unauthorised firearm – not pistol/prohibited firearm, and custody of a knife in a public place.

He is scheduled to face Eden Local Court today (3 July).
