Batemans Bay Police are appealing for witnesses following an alleged armed robbery involving a man in a military-style ‘ghillie’ suite.
Police report that at, “about 12 am today (September 11), the night console operator at a service station on Sydney Street, Mogo, was attending the fuel pumps when he was allegedly approached by an unknown male in a green camouflage ‘ghillie’ suit.”
“The man allegedly produced a firearm before demanding cash and cigarettes from the male employee and fleeing on foot across the Princes Highway.”
Police arrived at the scene shortly after and established a crime scene, before seizing a number of items for forensic examination.
No one was injured during the incident.
“The man is described as being approximately 175 cm tall, of medium build, and was wearing a green camouflage ‘ghillie’ suit and black face net at the time of the incident,” police say.
Police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed a motorbike in the area around that time.
This latest hold up comes just days after a man in a superhero costume robbed a business at Batehaven, north of Mogo.
Shortly after 7.30 pm on Thursday, September 5, a man dressed as Captain America allegedly produced a firearm before demanding cash from two male employees.
The man fleed on foot along Corrigan Crescent with an amount of cash.
The man in that incident is described by police as being between 157 cm and 178 cm tall. He was wearing a Captain America one-piece outfit at the time of the alleged offence.
