The Monaro Highway is closed in both directions from Old Cooma Road (near Royalla) and Yareen Road, Cooma, as a result.

Diversions are in place and are only suitable for light vehicles.

Northbound motorists are advised to take the Snowy Mountains Highway, Princes Highway, Kings Highway, Canberra Avenue, Hindmarsh Drive and then the Monaro Highway.

The diversions are expected to add five hours travel time.
