The man accused of being responsible for a fatal crash on the NSW Far South Coast last year has had his charge upgraded to manslaughter.
Previously, a NSW Police spokesperson said officers were called to Sapphire Coast Drive at Tura Beach due to reports of a vehicle rollover on the night of 21 June 2025.
The officers were told a white sedan allegedly lost control, left the road then rolled on the grass.
The two occupants, 33-year-old Edward James McCoid and a 46-year-old man, were taken to Bega Hospital in critical conditions, but the older man sadly could not be revived.
Mr McCoid was arrested in Queanbeyan and originally handed charges that included dangerous driving occasioning death before he was granted bail.
But following more inquiries, police said they would also be charging him with manslaughter.
This charge appeared in the Bega Local Court for the first time on Tuesday (10 February).
The matter was listed for a mention or committal on 14 April and Mr McCoid’s bail was continued.
