There’s plenty to get excited for in the regions this week, with Christmas events, live music, dance performances, craft events, community parties and even a sailing workshop.
The Lake Jindabyne Sailing Club is inviting locals to a free workshop where curious members of the public will be taken out on the water for half an hour. The club hopes to foster a love of sailing in the public and an interest in learning the ropes.
Queanbeyan, Berridale and Jindabyne all hold Christmas events, parties and carols this week, with plenty of live music, entertainment, food and drink on offer as Christmas celebrations start in earnest.

Discover sailing at the Jindabyne Sailing Club
When: 13 December, 9 am to 3 pm
Where: Lake Jindabyne Sailing Club, off Kosciuszko Road, Jindabyne
Cost: Free but booking essential.
Lake Jindabyne Sailing Club is inviting you to a day on the water, giving curious members of the non-sailing public and novices who want to learn more a great opportunity to gain more insight on sailing.
Sessions will last for 30 minutes throughout the day and will include a tour of the club and facilities. Attendees are asked to bring clothes that can get wet, including closed-toed shoes.
No experience is necessary, though attendees must have the ability to swim 50 m and climb into a boat.
The club is particularly excited to invite women sailors to try out their skills on the water.

Berridale Christmas Twilight Fair
When: 13 December, 4 to 9 pm
Where: Berridale Lions & Centennial Parks, Corner Myack Street & Jindabyne Road, Berridale
Cost: Free.
Berridale’s Christmas Twilight Fair is a full day of fun for the whole community, with plenty of stalls selling all sorts of gifts perfect for the Christmas season, along with music, live entertainment, face painting and family-friendly fun. There will also be a barbecue and freshly brewed coffee on offer.
Whether you’re keeping your eye out for a great Christmas present or you just want to get out and about with the community, Berridale’s Christmas Twilight Fair is the place to be this Saturday.

Amber Kenny live at the Steampacket Hotel

Amber Kenny is a performer from the Southern Highlands whose sound is informed by years spent at the CMAA Academy of Country Music. Amber’s style blends captivating melodies and raw lyrics which instantly connects with audiences.
This musical style, characterised by depth but easy connection, makes her perfect for a Saturday spent relaxing in the Steampacket’s beer garden.

Youth end of year send-off
When: 14 December, 11 am to 2 pm
Where: Lions Park, 27 Clyde Street, Batemans Bay
Cost: Free but bookings essential.
Youth are invited to Lions Park to celebrate summer and the end of the year with fun, games and plenty of activities.
The Local Gatho and Eurobodalla Youth have joined forces to put together a full day of healthy, free fun for local young people, with a barbecue, desserts, a group art project, an ice bath, music from a local DJ, arts and crafts and kayaking.
It’s free and all you have to bring is yourself, sun protection, a water bottle, swimmers, a towel and a change of clothes if you wish to kayak.

Corey Legge Live at Majors Creek Pub

Corey Legge is known for his heartfelt alt-country, blues and rock performances and he’s earned a growing reputation in the local music scene as a bold artist drawing from influences such as James Taylor, Chris Stapleton, and Passenger.
His authentic musical storytelling and guitar skills have earned him the People’s Choice Award for ‘Best Video’ at the Tamworth Country Music Festival and he was a finalist in numerous categories at the Sydney Blues Society Blues Awards.

Merry and Bright: A Family Xmas Event
When: 14 December, 4 pm
Where: Horizons Lake Jindabyne, 62 Kosciuszko Rd, Jindabyne
Cost: Free.
Local musicians, experienced and emerging, are coming to Horizons Lake for a special afternoon of Christmas songs and carols.
From 7:30 pm, attendees will even get a chance to learn some Christmas songs in two- or three-part harmony. Everyone is welcome regardless of age or ability and it’s a great opportunity to sing out and learn some new tunes with the whole community.

Christmas Crafternoon at the Goulburn Library

Christmas Crafternoon invites kids and youth to come to the library’s craft stations to make their very own special Christmas gifts completely free of charge.
Kids can let their imagination and creativity run wild with the library’s craft supplies, creating amazing and wonderful handmade gifts.

Queanbeyan Community Christmas Party and Carols

This year’s Queanbeyan Community Christmas Party and Carols celebration is the region’s largest. There will be plenty of entertainment from local artists, carols, delicious food and drinks, as well as plenty of free activities for the whole family.
