The alleged driver in a single-vehicle crash that left a man dead on the NSW Far South Coast has been charged and is scheduled to face court later this year.
Emergency services were called to Sapphire Coast Drive at Tura Beach after hearing a vehicle had rolled on the night of 21 June 2025, a NSW Police spokesperson said.
Police were told a white sedan allegedly lost control, left the road then rolled on the grass.
The alleged driver, a 33-year-old man, and his 46-year-old male passenger were taken to Bega Hospital in critical conditions.
Sadly, the older man could not be revived, while the younger man was transferred to Canberra Hospital for further treatment.
“A crime scene was established and officers from Crash Investigation Unit were called to commence an investigation into the circumstances surrounding this incident,” the police spokesperson said.
This week, the younger man was arrested at Queanbeyan Police Station and charged with dangerous driving occasioning death, drink driving and negligent driving occasioning death.
He was granted conditional bail to appear at Bega Local Court on 28 October.
