Police are no closer to finding a prisoner who escaped from a Nowra jail last week, and are asking the community for help.

A NSW Police spokesperson said David Johnson, aged 44, was last seen on The Links Road, South Nowra, at about 7:45 am on Wednesday 29 January.

Officers attached to South Coast Police District began an investigation to find him.

David is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 185 cm tall, with a medium build, brown hair, blue eyes and a goatee-style beard.

“He is known to frequent the ACT, Queanbeyan and Wollongong areas.

“Anyone who sees Johnson is urged not to approach him but to contact triple zero (000) immediately.”
