Crank It Up Batemans Bay

The Crank It Up festival is a three-day 50s extravaganza, with live music from 12 rock ‘n’ roll bands from around Australia, dancing workshops and more than 160 hot rods and classic cars if you’re a motor enthusiast. There are two stages and dance floors across the festival so you’ve got plenty of choice with what you decide to do – get stuck into the dancing or just have a stickybeak at the classic cars and enjoy the beautiful backdrop of Batemans Bay.

20th Anniversary of fYREGALLERY
When: 15 to 21 November, open 10 am to 4 pm every day, closed Tuesday

The Fyre Gallery in Braidwood celebrates 20 years of elevating art in the region with this exhibition showcasing the work of 20 brilliant female artists the fine art gallery has hosted over the past two decades. Sadly it will be the final show the Fyre Gallery will put on, but it will be a worthy send-off for this staple in the Braidwood community.

Mumbulla School Spring Fair

Cost: Free, bring cash for fundraising.
Show up for a good cause at the Mumbulla School spring fair annual fundraiser, which is offering something for everyone – activities for the kids, live music, and homemade goods and plants and books for sale to help raise funds for the school. There’ll be live performances by the students that you can enjoy while eating the woodfired pizza and barbecue fare on offer. It’s a fun way to support a great local school. Guests are encouraged to bring their own plates and cups to aid in the school’s commitment to reducing waste.

Life in Colour – opening celebration

Tyger Gallery invites you to the opening celebration of its new group exhibition showcasing the work of 30 Australian artists. Some are old gallery favourites but Tyger Gallery is also committed to showing you fresh faces in the art world. The art itself has a focus on vibrancy, colour and life, so come celebrate the coming of summer with some bright beautiful works that are sure to inspire you.

Carapark Carnivale

Sam’s Caravan hosts a community night of drinks, food, music and stand-up. This low-key festival will be a good way to unwind and enjoy a variety of local talent in all sorts of musical genres such as jazz and Afrobeat. There will also be Mexican food vans and a coffee van for organic and locally roasted coffee. Sam’s Caravan also welcomes local performers on stage who want their talent filmed, offering a multi-angle recording of their performance.

Goulburn One Day Spring Chess Tournament

Where: Hume Conservatorium, 160 Bourke Street, Goulburn
Cost: $25 entry fee, book here.
The Goulburn spring chess tournament is on and open for kids from five to 17 years old. If your kid is a pro or just looking to upskill from family games to something a bit more competitive, it’s a great way to foster their talent. Prizes go to the top five places and to the top scorers in various categories.

The Pheasant Wood Race track holds its open day this Thursday. If you’re a revhead looking to see what your prized car can really do this is the perfect opportunity for you.
