NSW Police have issued an appeal for information more than a week after an elderly woman died in a single-vehicle crash in Limerick, in southern NSW.
A NSW Police spokesperson said inquiries were ongoing after the crash, which occurred about 9:20 pm last Thursday (19 October).
“Emergency services were called to the intersection of Turkey Hill Road and Peelwood Road, Limerick, approximately 40 km north of Crookwell, following reports of a single-vehicle incident,” the spokesperson said.
“On arrival, officers attached to The Hume Police District located a white Subaru hatchback, submerged in a creek.
“A short time later, Fire and Rescue NSW retrieved the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle – an 87-year-old woman – however, she died at the scene.”
The NSW Police spokesperson said a crime scene was set up, and an investigation opened into the circumstances surrounding the incident, and public assistance was being sought.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
