Looking for something to pad out your social calendar this week?
The region’s senior population are invited to Ulladulla for a multi-day festival focused around them, while Moruya will host five performances of plays. Meanwhile, the weekend will see a fundraiser for the Black Dog Institute in Nerriga, an author event in Yass, birthday celebrations for a community radio station and a working bee.
The week will also see a gig from The Water Runners, a field day for merino breeders and a drop-in workshop with a regional council.

Burrill Lake Seniors Festival

Cost: Free entry.
For those grey nomads looking for a break from life, this festival is for you! It will all start at 4 pm on Friday (25 August), with other events to include trivia, yoga, watching footy, morning teas and a tour of award-winning Lagom Bakery. But of course, there’s also the activities in and around Ulladulla as well, should you fancy spending some more time on the South Coast.

Cost: Tickets cost $10 (concession card holders) and $15 (for adults), and are available via Ticketor.
There’s five shows only if you’re keen on taking in some theatre this weekend. Take in A Chip in the Sugar by Alan Bennett and Lost and Found by Jack Spahr. The two plays run for around an hour.
Friday
The Water Runners’ gig

Where: Goulburn Club, 19 Market Street, Goulburn
Cost: Tickets cost $20 (for members) or $22 (general admission); they are available via Humanitix, but will also be available at the door for $25 (if not sold out before).
Blues fans will be jumping for joy to hear that The Water Runners are coming to Goulburn. Grab a ticket and make a night of it!
The Sydney Hotshots Live at Moruya Waterfront Hotel
When: 25 August, 8 to 10 pm
Where: Moruya Waterfront Hotel Motel, 1-5 Princes Highway, Moruya
Cost: Tickets cost $37.63 (general admission) to $68.95 (VIP Silver seating), and are available via eventbrite or at the venue until sold out.
This show takes ladies’ night to a new level! The Sydney Hotshots are coming to Moruya, along with their dance routines and costumes. So snag a ticket, settle in, and prepare for the show.
Saturday
Camp Oven Cook Off fundraiser
When: 26 August, 11 am to 4 pm
Where: Nerriga Hotel, 6124 Nerriga Road, Nerriga
Cost: Free entry.
This is a fundraiser for a good cause, with money to be donated to the Black Dog Institute. Support their efforts by taking part in the auction from 1 pm or buy some raffle tickets (if you’re feeling lucky), all while listening to live music from The Furry Animals. The raffle will be drawn at 1 pm, 2 pm and 3 pm. Food-wise, the day will see teams compete for best cook, and a barbecue will be manned.
Author Event with Serina Bird
When: 26 August, 1:30 to 3 pm
Where: Yazzbar, 81 Comur Street, Yass
Cost: Free entry.
This is one thing to consider if you’re not a fan of the monthly RBA meeting. Author (and former diplomat and author of The Joyful Frugalista) Serina Bird will be at Yazzbar to discuss her new book, How to Pay Your Mortgage off in 10 Years (Even When Interest Rates are Going Up).
Edge FM 30th Anniversary
When: 26 August, 11 am to 3 pm
Where: Old Bega Hospital, 3 Corkhill Place, Bega
Cost: Free entry.
Thirty years is a big milestone, and 93.7 Edge FM is inviting the community to gather around for the celebrations. Andrew Ogilvie will be serving as MC, with the day also set to include a chance for people to meet the presenters, tour the studios and hear some live entertainment. On the food front, there will be a coffee truck, Thai food and a barbecue from the Bega Men’s Shed, though people are also invited to bring something for themselves.

South West Slopes Stud Merino Breeders Annual Field Day
When: 29 August, 10 am to 4:30 pm
Where: Harden-Murrumburrah Showground, corner of North and Woolrych Streets, Harden
Cost: Free entry.
Farmers, sheep breeders and visitors to Harden are all invited to come along for a day of fun and farming. Sixty merino studs will be on display, alongside industry specialists and representatives to answer all your questions. There will be on-site parking and a coffee van to keep everyone happy.

Jerrabomberra Pump Track Drop-in Workshop
